Not a product to count on

We researched baby monitors and this unit kept coming up with high ratings. I needed a product that would allow me to monitor two different rooms remotely, via web browser and/or smartphone.
My husband is an engineer, and he found the setup complicated. After several hours, he was able to set up one camera and get a picture on our smart phones - which was the whole goal. It worked for a day. Our contractor had to interrupt the electricity for work he was doing, and it took hours of finagling to get the camera back up again. It ran for an hour and then locked up. We could never get the 2nd camera to sync with the receiver. Currently, I am able to use the watcher and remote viewing on the hardwired (directly attached to the cable modem) machine that has the usb receiver attached. I am *unable* to bring up the camera on any other machine. I am completely frustrated with the product. We are returning the system.
If you have a secure wireless network in your home, this is far more complicated to set up and use than the product description suggests. The system is extremely fragile and it appears that the camera goes down if there is a power blip, or if the computer you are running it from goes into hibernate mode. There is no way to restart it remotely. Technical support is only available during business hours, M-F and if you work (like most people who would need this product), it's difficult to connect with them. This is a great idea, but it fails in the execution. We are ordering more robust equipment at a higher cost and I'll have to eat the $40 in shipping fees.
Doesn't do what Levana promises

This is the MOST useless piece of junk I have ever ordered. The Levana LV-TW500-2C Two Digital Wireless Baby Cameras with Online Monitoring sounded like exactly what we needed for our twins' nursery. I went to [...] and researched before buying. They show "footage" from the camera in daytime viewing and nightvision viewing. There is no way that is actual "footage" from one of these systems. The nightvision is crappy. My 6 year old has $50 nightvision goggles that are awesome, you can see very well with them, but with this camera system you get a low lit grainy image. The nightvision also turns off on the cameras once you start up the "watcher" software or if you switch to a different camera. Makes it completely useless for trying to watch 2 babies at night. Once you switch to a different camera the nightvision turns off of both cameras meaning that you have to go into their room to turn nightvision back on and only look at one camera all night. You cannot use their "watcher" software to turn back on the nightvision...verified that with Levana customer service. It also promises that you can expand it up to 4 cameras and watch the nanny/kids in 4 rooms of the house. Nope. You would have to call the Nanny and ask him/her to change the camera view on the home computer with the "watcher" software. I verified this with Levana's 24/7 Live Customer Service....which is really only from 8-5pm Mon-Fri. Not sure how that makes them 24/7 except that you have the capability to send them an email 24/7 that they will respond to within 2 business days.
