Customer Reviews

rated 5 out of 5 IR Dome Camera
by D. Morrison from San Jose, CA United States, 2008-05-15

This is a very nice little camera and I feel it is a great value if you are looking for a color, dome style, camera with a 3.6mm lens (aprox.90 degree field of view)that can see at night. The 420 TV lines beat the 380 TV lines any day.

The aluminum housing seems very well made and appears to be anodized. The camera has very good night vision compared to the outdoor IR camera that came with my system. The IR camera that came with my system could not see more than 10 feet at night even with the outdoor lights on. Now at night I can see just about everything with no lights on.

The camera was a little hard to aim due to the rubber O ring on which the camera ball rotates. The camera ball wanted to stick to the O ring. A little moisture seemed to resolve the sticking issue. The tiny set screws used to attach the ball bezel to the base were a little hard to get at.

Be prepared for the BNC connector from the camera video to the field wiring. Power is by a standard 5.5mm X 2.1mm circular socket. The included instructions wern't very informative. I have another cmera coming to replace one inside the house.
